Certified Training

Corporate members of NIOG may ask for the right to certify training as NIOG approved.  This may apply only to certain courses or may be more broadly, as a NIOG certified training provider.  NIOG will also certify programs that, in the opinion of the board, provide a level of knowledge and skills commensurate with that of investigation, intelligence and enforcement professionals.

What this means in practice

All Certifications

  1. The course objective is relevant to the investigation sector
  2. The course content meets the stated objective
  3. The course is delivered by a competent professional

Certified Training Provider

  1. The company is a corporate member of NIOG
  2. The training company uses only properly trained and supervised trainers
  3. All courses for investigators meet the requirements of ‘ All Certifications’ (above)

Certified Programmes

  1. The programme is delivered by a Certified Training Provider
  2. The programme’s learning outcomes are appropriate to the programme descriptor and suitable for at least one of our members’ professional disciplines
  3. The courses that form part of the qualification meet the requirements of ‘All Certifications’ (above)
  4. Candidates are clearly told what is expected of them to achieve the qualification
  5. Assessment of achievement is reasonable, relevant and robust
  6. Reasonable adjustments are made for those with different abilities
  7. Assessments are subject to internal verification
  8. A proportion of assessments are externally verified by NIOG
